Terms of Use
Last updated: 13 October 2026
1. About these terms
Agent Notifier (the "Service") is provided by Adaptive Cogito LLC ("we", "us", "our"). It consists of a mobile app, a web app and a command line tool ("CLI") that let an AI coding agent running on your computer send you notifications and questions, and let you answer them from your phone or browser. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Adaptive Cogito LLC about your use of the Service.
By creating an account or using the Service you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not create an account and do not use the Service.
2. What the Service does
The Service lets you:
- receive one-way notifications from your coding agent as push notifications on your phone;
- receive questions from your agent, with optional answer choices, and answer them in the mobile app or the web app so that the agent can continue working;
- create and revoke API tokens that connect a computer (through the CLI) to your account;
- see your pending and recent questions and notifications in the mobile app and the web app;
- delete your account and all its data.
The Service only passes messages between your agent and you. It does not run, supervise or control the agent. What your agent does with an answer is your responsibility.
3. Your account
- To use the Service you need an account. You can sign in with an email one-time code, with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple or Google. You must give us an email address that you control.
- You are responsible for keeping your password, your sign-in methods and your API tokens secret and for everything that happens under your account. An API token lets whoever holds it send notifications and questions to your devices. Revoke a token you no longer use or think was exposed.
- You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement in your country, and in any case at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
4. Your content and your answers
The text of the notifications and questions your agent sends, the answer options, and the answers you give (selected options and free text) are "your content". You keep all rights you have in it.
You give Adaptive Cogito LLC a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, transmit, process and display your content only as far as needed to run the Service for you. This includes handing the push notification text to the push delivery providers described in the Privacy Policy. The licence ends when your content is deleted, except for the short period it may remain in technical copies.
Do not make your agent send secrets such as passwords, private keys or access tokens in notification or question text, and do not type secrets into answers. Notification and question text is stored on our servers and passes through third-party push services.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or use the Service to send unlawful, harassing, deceptive or otherwise harmful content, including spam to other people;
- access or try to access another person's account or data, or the systems that run the Service;
- probe, scan or test the security of the Service, or interfere with or overload it, for example with excessive notification or question volume;
- upload viruses or any code intended to damage or disrupt the Service;
- copy, resell, decompile or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
We may apply rate limits to protect the Service.
6. Answers are acted on by software
- An answer you give is delivered to your agent, which may act on it automatically, for example by running commands or changing files. Read the question carefully before you answer.
- A question can only be answered once. If it expires or has already been answered (for example from another device), your answer is rejected.
- The Service does not give professional advice and does not verify what your agent asks or does.
7. Notifications and delivery
Push notifications are delivered through the push services of your phone platform (Apple, Google) and Expo. Delivery is best effort: notifications can be late or missing, for example when notification permission is denied, the device is offline or in a power-saving mode, or a push provider has an outage. The in-app inbox is the reliable place to see pending questions. Never rely on a notification alone for the safety of people, systems or data.
Notification permission in the mobile app is optional, but without it you will not be alerted to new questions.
8. Deleting your account
- You can delete your account in the mobile app or the web app under Account > Delete account. You must confirm your identity (password, a code sent to your email, or your Apple/Google sign-in). Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is erased.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts the Service or other users at risk, or if we are required to by law. Where reasonably possible we will tell you why.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available but we do not promise that it will always be available, error free or free from data loss. We may change, add or remove features, and we may stop providing the Service, with reasonable notice where possible.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we give no warranties other than those that cannot be excluded by law, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data or profit, or for any harm that results from actions taken by your agent, missed or late notifications, or answers delivered to the wrong place because an API token was exposed.
Our total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Adaptive Cogito LLC for the Service in the 12 months before the claim and 50 euros (or the equivalent in your currency).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. The date at the top shows when they were last updated. If a change is material we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, you can delete your account.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Adaptive Cogito LLC is established. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in the courts of that country.
